Members of our Paulist
Family share with us some of their stories
Starting a
New Mission - Back in 1968:
Fr Vincent Magro MSSP was one of the first Paulist
Missionaries to be sent to Peru. Here he reflects on those first days, back
in 1968. Today, "Padre Vicente" is still in Peru, happily ministering in a
Parish in Arequipa.
A New Beginning:
Fr Lonnie Borg MSSP was one of
the first Paulist Missionaries in the Philippines. He embarked on his new
mission after years of ministry in Pakistan, accompanied by Fr Ivano
Burdian from Australia.
Evangelization Through music:
Since his early days, music has
been very much an integral part of the life of Fr Karm Debattista MSSP.
For years now he has been using this God-given gift to proclaim Christ's
message in a most effective way.
Parish Life:
Mary Farrell has journeyed from being a "visiting" parishioner at Our
Lady of Victories, Horsley Park (Australia) to having a deep sense of
belonging and commitment. Here she talks about the joys of being part of
this "happy, caring family".
Being Part of a
Paulist Parish:
Having lived all his life in the
Paulist parish of Our Lady of Victories of Horsley Park (Australia),
Damien Borg here reflects on how the Parish has helped him grow, and
of his commitment to be a living member of the Parish.
Living as a
Religious Brother in Pakistan:
Br. Dominic Borg MSSP is a
professed Brother of the Missionary Society of St Paul. Here he tells us
about his life and ministries in Pakistan, which is a predominantly Muslim
country.
A Migrant Chaplain
in Australia:
Fr John Taliana MSSP was sent from Malta to
Australia while still studying for the priesthood. In his years in
Australia he did both Parish ministry and migrant chaplaincy, besides
serving for some time as Congregational Leader. Having experienced the
reality of being a migrant himself has helped him to better understand the
needs of migrants in Australia.
